What ELSE can I grill?
Summer is a great time for grilling. Take advantage and grill all the hot dogs and hamburgers you can eat! While the grill is running though, think about these other things you can put on your grill, and consider giving them a try!
1. Watermelon Steak
That's right! The core idea is very simple, but it might not be something you would think of. Some call it watermelon steak, and others just call it 'grilled watermelon.' At a bare minimum, all that is necessary is a watermelon, olive oil, and salt. You can take it to another level with lime juice but the key is grilling for long enough to get the grill marks. This means the sugars in the watermelon carmelize and the texture changes into a whole new thing!
2. Grilled Corn
I'll admit, I don't know why grilled corn is so good, but it absolutely is! The simple plan is to put fresh corn, still in the husk, on the grill for 15-20 minutes, turning every 5 minutes. Some people soak the corn first, some remove the husks entirely, but it's not necessary!
3. Grilled Peaches
Grilled peaches can make a great dessert paired with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream! This is another fruit that benefits visually and texturally from the grill marks, so go for it! You can add, cinnamon, honey, or berries to grilled peaches as well!
4. Grilled Carrots
Grilled carrots are delicious! This is another one that can be prepared with just olive oil and salt...and of course, carrots! For a different take on it, you might try adding a glaze to your grilled carrots, it adds a few more ingredients to the recipe but it is worth a try!
What about you?
What are some things you like to grill? What should be added to this list? Do you have any delicious variations on one of these four?
